Clos La Coutale is one of the oldest and most emblematic wine estates in Cahors, in southwestern France. Its roots lie deep in a centuries-old winemaking tradition, and today it remains in the hands of the same family for six generations. Philippe and Sébastien Bernède, heirs to this history, keep the spirit of the estate alive, combining respect for the family heritage with an open vision for the future.

Located on a bend of the Lot River, the winery has witnessed the evolution of the region, from the days when Cahors's "red wine" traveled by river to Bordeaux for export, to its rediscovery in the 20th century as one of France's great terroirs. The name "Clos" refers to the old walled estates that protected the vineyards, a symbol of care and tradition.

For over a century, Clos La Coutale has preserved the authentic character of Cahors Malbec, keeping alive practices and values passed down through generations. Its wines, found on renowned tables and wine lists worldwide, are today the expression of a story that continues to unfold, uniting past, present, and future in every bottle.
