The Art of Organizing a Wine Tasting / Portfolio Tasting!
Share
After so many years participating in wine tastings with clients from all over the world—France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Japan—the time finally came to organize one ourselves. And we can proudly say that the result exceeded all our expectations.
But what does organizing a professional tasting really entail? Let's take a brief look back at our first experience.
The Stage: Much More Than Just a Space
Beyond the wine selection—undoubtedly the cornerstone of any tasting—the success of the event depends largely on the chosen venue. This is no small decision: it must be a beautiful, welcoming space with good accessibility, parking, adequate logistics for setting up the room, spacious tables, access to a cold storage room… In short, finding the perfect place is no easy task .
However, at the Hotel Subur Maritim we found exactly what we were looking for. An ideal setting, an attentive team, and impeccable facilities. We couldn't have chosen better.
The Wine Experience: Where Everything Makes Sense
A wine tasting is not simply about getting together for a few glasses. It's a journey.
An opportunity to relax, discover unusual wines, and immerse yourself in stories that awaken emotion and curiosity.
That's why we wanted the experience to be flawless from the very beginning:
- Welcome counter
- Identification bracelets
- Tasting catalog
- Numbered tables and wines
- Riedel Cups
- Ice buckets and spittoons at each station
- Decanters when necessary
Every detail was carefully considered to make attendees feel like they were experiencing something special.
The Protagonists: The People Behind Each Wine
But if there is one thing that transforms a tasting into a truly memorable experience, it is the possibility of interacting with those who know wines in depth.
Behind each table was a professional ready to guide, explain and share the unique story of each bottle.
Our sincerest thanks to Enric and Aida from Cavas Vives Ambrós , to Kiko and Carles from Celler Eravi , and, of course, to our longtime friends, Cédric and Ariadna , without whom none of this would have been possible.
An Unforgettable Beginning
In summary, this first tasting has been a wonderful experience for Altervino , and we hope it was for everyone who joined us.
Thank you for trusting us, for coming without knowing exactly what you would find… and for bringing this project to life.
This is just the beginning.
There will be many more tastings, many more stories, and many more shared experiences.
With love,
The Altervino team
