“When I’m asked to introduce Domaine Augustin, I tend to let all these men who spend a lot of time alone outdoors speak for themselves. Then I often reply: ‘It’s me… Augustin.’”

In fact, it's more than just me. It was first and foremost my father who instilled in me a love for this trade, here in Banyuls, in this ancient vineyard—not to say absolutely ancient, given its age. It's also the family estate, where I worked during my childhood holidays, first preparing orders in the cool air of the cellar, and then, when I had the strength, out in the vineyard under the midday sun with my father's workers. I still remember my first day of harvesting at Col Perdiguer; it was a tough time.

However, it is this profession that I chose to launch my life. I spent three years on the family estate, three years with these workers who were the first to teach me the techniques for pruning, grafting, digging, plowing, tying... before experimenting with other family wineries in Bourgogne and Corbières, finally returning home to start my life's project."
