Clos du Caillou is a historic estate in the Southern Rhône, renowned for the finesse and elegance of its wines. Founded in 1895 and now managed by the Vacheron family, the domaine encompasses parcels in both Côtes-du-Rhône and Châteauneuf-du-Pape, allowing for the exploration of different nuances within the same terroir.
The vineyards, cultivated organically and biodynamically, are situated on soils of safre, sand and pebbles, which give the wines
Structure and aromatic complexity. The Mediterranean climate, moderated by the mistral wind, favors balanced ripening and great fruit purity.
In the winery, indigenous yeasts and gentle aging in foudres and used barrels are prioritized, preserving the identity of each plot. This respectful approach results in wines that combine intensity, minerality, and freshness. Clos du Caillou is now an undisputed benchmark of the Southern Rhône: its cuvées precisely express the essence of Châteauneuf-du-Pape and are among the most highly regarded by international critics.
