When Pascale and Pierre Gaillard arrived in Malleval in 1981, everything was yet to be done. Pierre began by clearing and planting his first vines at Clos de Cuminaille, in the Saint-Joseph appellation. Since then, he has built a 25-hectare vineyard with his own hands on the steepest slopes of the northern Rhône Valley.

Considered by his peers and experienced tasters as a benchmark in the northern Rhône Valley, Pierre now works closely with his three sons. Together they perpetuate the Gaillard name by offering full-bodied wines always imbued with finesse and elegance.

The eldest daughter of Pierre and Pascale Gaillard, Jeanne took the plunge in 2008, acquiring some fifteen hectares of vineyards. Today she produces both straightforward and gourmet wines in the IGP Collines Rhodaniennes, as well as excellent cellaring wines in the AOC Saint-Joseph.
